Dear Diva,
I have heard that a belly button piercing can add a
little sizzle to a relationship and that such piercings are relatively
painless. Is this true, and what kind of advice can you offer for someone
nervous about doing it?

Dear Tiffany,
My darling I am so glad to hear that you are considering a
belly button piercing – you won’t regret it. What they say is
true, the piercing does add some fire to a relationship. Most
normal guys cannot help but to be turned on by belly jewelry. Your partner
will come to appreciate the hot look it gives you, especially when combined
with some sexy lingerie. Ooh-la-la! There are some things you need
to be aware of, my Diva-to-be.
First of all, only have the piercing done by a reputable
firm. I used a company from Beverly Hills (naturally darlings), and I
urge you to shop around and find a firm you can trust. Secondly, although
it does not hurt, you should avoid watching someone else get pierced just
before getting your piercing as it may psych you out. Care of the
piercing is very important to avoid infection. I used liquid wound wash
from the pharmacy to keep the piercing clean and avoided pools and hot tubs
during the healing process, which took about six weeks.
You also must take care not to snag the belly jewelry on
clothing, bedding, your partner, etc. While getting pierced is painless,
having your belly jewelry ripped out unexpectedly is not. Be sure to
consult a physician if you see any indication of infection. I think if you
take reasonable precautions you will be very pleased with your piercing and it
will provide years of enjoyment. Best of all, you will soon have another
reason to shop for jewelry!
