Rocketman here again to review �A Hot Affair��, an adult board game from Creative Conceptions LTD (UK). Included in the box are some short instructions (one 8� by 11 inch sheet, folded), four decks of cards, one die, the game board, two player pieces, and an assortment of colored rings. The decks of cards are labeled, �Fantasy�, �Passionate�, �Intimate�, and �Steamy.�

The concept of the game is simple: each player roles the die and advances around the board in a clockwise direction. The trips around the board, in theory, become increasingly intimate as you land on squares and pick up cards corresponding to those squares. Some of the squares instruct you to take a drink. Each time you pass �Go� you collect a colored ring. The player to circle the board six times �wins� but if all goes according to plan you both win!

I found in practice the game did not live up to expectations. Maybe I just landed on the �take a drink� square a few times too often, but the game seemed boring after the first couple of times around the board. Many of the cards had you doing stupid things such as running around the outside of your house naked that were more funny things to do when you are drunk vs. something that would lead to an intimate encounter with your partner. A lot of the cards seemed like too much work, like the one that suggested taking a big bunch of red grapes and sitting on them in the bathtub so that your partner can later lick the juice and pulp off. Who has time for that?

This game essentially had me in a sleeper hold by my second or third time around the board. I thought it was just me, but my partner was of the same opinion. I would not recommend this game to couples seeking to add sizzle to their sex life � you would be better off taking the money you would spend on this game and use it to buy admission to a couples-friendly strip club or a decent couples DVD.
