So, you’ve thought about subscribing to Playboy® TV, but always shied away from the expense because you didn’t think it was worth it? Are you curious about Playboy TV but wanted to read a review before taking the plunge and signing up for the service? Well, today is your lucky day, because Rocketman is here to save you the hassle of checking it out for yourself.
Playboy TV can be found on most cable and satellite services and in many hotel rooms. At the time of this review, the residential service was $15.99 for one month or $7.99 for four hours. The monthly package is a no brainer if you are interested in viewing a lot of the programming on an on-going basis. When you consider the cost of many Pay-per-View sporting events (like WWE Wrestling!) at $34.95 per event, the Playboy package seems inexpensive. And with the Playboy channel, you are most certainly going to get more bang for your buck, if you know what I mean.
Playboy TV offers 24X7 programming ranging from softcore to hardcore adult action, although the bulk of the shows and features are of the softcore variety. If you are only interested in XXX programming, Playboy TV is not for you. There are several reality shows, such as 7 Lives Exposed and Naughty Amateur Home Videos. There is also a news broadcast that features anchorwomen who strip while reading the nightly news. A take-off on the old hidden-camera comedies can be found in a show called Totally Busted. If reality-based TV is not your thing, there are some X and XXX movies shown daily, video centerfolds, call-in fantasy shows, and various specials.
My biggest complaint with Playboy TV is much of the programming does not showcase original ideas and concepts. Many of the shows seem like copies of shows you would see during primetime on the major networks, with an adult twist. On the positive side, for less than $20 per month you get an enormous amount of adult movies, shows, and specials. If you rent more than three adult DVDs per month, you will more than get your money’s worth from spending that same amount of money on Playboy TV instead. From that perspective, Playboy TV provides a lot of value.
