The dildo mount comes in three pieces, two grippers that clamp the shaft and a ring that slides on over-top to hold the grippers in place. The assembled mount then inserts into a slider that can be used in conjunction with the platform to hold the dildo at various positions perpendicular to your bed, sofa, arm-chair, or ??? (be creative). The second mount is designed for vibrators; it consists of two pieces – a speed-ring and a lock-ring. Place the speed-ring on the bottom of the included zebra vibe with the indent facing towards the tip of the toy and slide the lock-ring down the shaft (wide-end first). Another new addition to the BedBuddy is the Vac-U-Lock® adapter ($9 option or included with second Slider for $25). The Vac-U-Lock adapter allows use of various Vac-U-Lock enabled toys from companies like Doc Johnson. This widens up toy choices dramatically as Doc Johnson has a wide variety of compatible toys. Using the adapter is very easy, simply put a little of Doc Johnson’s dry lubricant into the hole in the base of your toy and then pop it onto the adapter. The adapter then locks into place on the slider and you can add it to the platform (just like with the other attachments).
One thing that I quickly noticed when trying out the BedBuddy with my partner was that a good cushion is a must. An arm-chair cushion will help save your knees from hard-wood floors, or if you want there are purposely designed cushions like those made by Liberator that I would consider a must have for optimal use of the BedBuddy. The most comfortable position for my partner was doggy-style with her backing into the BedBuddy and slowly rocking back and forth. For best results, two toys are really the best way to go, have one in hand (usually vibrator) and the dong or another vibrator mounted on the BedBuddy. The double-stimulation of this method can make solo-play or voyeurism quite fun.
So how about positions other then doggy-style? Missionary position can be achieved, but it will be awkward without the right cushions or mounting arrangement. A narrow arm-chair or a wedge-shaped cushion makes this position possible. I also found that stacking a few sofa cushions next to the bed raised my partner up sufficiently to allow for her to drape her legs on-top of the bed while being supported and allow for a good rocking motion. Ideally you will want some purpose designed cushions to make the most out of missionary position with the BedBuddy.
