Like a lot you out there, I like butter on my popcorn. A little butter on a baked potato is good too. And who can complain about butter on corn on the cob??!! But that’s not what I’m talking about here today. In this review, I’m looking at a whole different kind of butter – Body Butter™ by Doc Johnson™. Newly repackaged, it is available in Vanilla, Chocolate Marshmallow, Wild Cherry, Passion Fruit, Strawberry Sundae, Cherry Vanilla, and Peaches N’ Cream.

The premise of edible body toppings like Body Butter is that they can serve a dual purpose. One objective is softening dry skin with their built-in moisturizers. For people with dry skin, eczema, or psoriasis, this can be very beneficial and can make intimate encounters more enjoyable for both partners. The second objective is to create an environment for enhanced intimacy by stimulating the senses of touch, smell, taste, and sight.

The sample I recently looked at was the Peaches n’ Cream flavor in the 4 oz (118 ml) jar (2oz size also available). Visually, the product had a light peachy color and a smooth appearance, as I anticipated based on the product’s name. On the palette I could definitely taste a light and pleasant artificial peachy taste. However, the cream part of the Peaches n’ Cream taste was akin to hand lotion. Both the initial taste and the aftertaste were of peach-flavored hand lotion. That’s not surprising given the emphasis on skin-softening ingredients, but nonetheless a turn-off for the taste buds.

In use, I found that the product went on smooth and felt good on my fingers as I massaged it in to my partner. I particularly liked the product’s texture and the act of rubbing it onto my partner made for some good foreplay – try it and I think you will agree. I found a small dab covered large areas of skin, so you definitely want to go easy. Remember, the idea is to make the skin smooth and lightly scented, not greasy and slippery. Fortunately if you apply too much it can be wiped off easily.

If you haven’t tried Body Butter™ by Doc Johnson™ before, it’s worth a try. Personally I think the taste needs to be improved, but overall the product represents reasonable value for its price point.
